Prompt 1:
t’s a normal day in the Town – a little chilly, but otherwise sunny and relatively pleasant –which is what makes it all the more offensive that it’s once again up to no good.
This time?
It happens when you eat.
Eating anything red will cause you to grow – the more you eat, the more you grow. If you’re not careful, you could become absolutely massive. Eating anything blue will cause you to shrink – the more you eat, the more, again, you shrink. Don’t worry, though. Eating yellow foods will turn you back to normal.
Oh…and remember that foods aren’t always the colors you’re used to them being here.
Prompt 2:
t’s a good thing you’ve adjusted to the Town a bit! You’re probably wearing some of the classic peasant fashion that can be found and scavenged in the Town, whether for warmth or to give your poor regular clothes a break or because they’re covered in the blood of fairies… either way, here you are in some colorless, hideous grey peasant clothing of various types.
Which is why it’s all the worse when it suddenly has color again. Maybe it’s bright orange. Maybe it’s puce colored. Maybe it’s a horrifying mix of pink and purple. Either way, there’s no chance any of what you’re wearing matches.
You can definitely thank someone in the Town for this one.
Prompt 3:
he quest sits proudly and simple on the quest post on the forum. It seems simple, too:
Quest 63 Retrieve a pair of fairy wings. Requirements: Any two colors.
Surely you can manage that much! So off into the woods you go to find some fairies. Of course, they’re mean, nasty little buggers, full of various types of magic and tricks up their little fairy sleeves, so they won’t exactly be easy to take care of. But you finally manage. You’re victorious, and proudly have a defeated fairy in your hands.
… Yeah, of course you have to rip the wings off yourself if you want to bring them back. Anything less just won’t do. Gross.
This quest was way more trouble than it was worth.
Prompt 4:
he woods looms ominously over the Town pretty constantly… and that’s just something you have to get used to. But then, from the depths of the woods, in the darkness under the tree branches, there’s…a light. It’s a small, flickering light, as if from a lantern in the distance.
You…should go see what it is, right? There’s a strong, strong urge to do so. Maybe you think someone out there needs help. Maybe you think the person there has answers, or knows a way out.
Either way…the will-o-wisps will try to lure you deeply into the woods. Deeper, and deeper and deeper… until you slam right on into one of those golems, or banshees or hydras or many others. You can thank your fellow townspeople for their existence out there – but either way, they’re nasty and mean. Hopefully someone saw you wandering in there and followed to give you a hand, because chances are, you’ll need it.

[ What a cruel assignment... She watches the fairy struggle with a sympathetic expression on her face but makes no move to rescue it from his clutches. Since it's a task they must complete, there's no helping it, right?
She gestures to the sword in his hand. ]
If there are any traces of iron or steel in that sword, you should be able to cut them off easily. Most myths say that fairies are weak to those metals for whatever reason.
no subject
( His sheathe still holding down the fairy, he draws his sword cleanly, )
Of course. Let's make this quick. I'm no longer heartless, after all.
( But before he can ask her to help him with holding the fairy down... there's a flash of magic right at his face and he yelps, jumping back and raising the hand with his sheathe to his face. )
Ah...! You surprised me.
( That sure is one (1) angry fairy flying at both of them now that it's free. )
no subject
Eeek!!
[ By instinct, her right arm (the arm completely covered in bandages), detaches from her and hurtles through the air, a trail of black smoke in its wake. It punches the fairy square in its furious little face, knocking it back several paces into a tree. The fairy looks absolutely stunned as it spirals onto the ground. The arm comes flying back, reattaching itself to Kasen. ]
Oh goodness, that caught me off guard... Look, it's over there!
no subject
( And now he's jumping out of the way to avoid... an arm?! Even if he wasn't in danger of actually getting hit, that's still a sight to see, okay. He doesn't stay off guard for long though. He regains his bearings quickly enough and lets out a very loud and joyous laugh, )
Hahaha! What a surprise! ( Really! He'll have to ask about that more later but there are priorities right now. First, they'll take care of this fairy and he's quick to go over and hold the fairy down again. His sword is too long to really cut it naturally on his own. He'll need someone to hold the fairy in place.... )
Why don't you give me a hand, hm?
( Oh. Yes. That was a good one. Good job, hahaha. He's very proud of his little joke. )
no subject
If it's just a hand you need, then certainly! [ ...because she only has one! She hurries over to take the fairy from him; it's still dazed from her punch so there's no struggle at the changing of hands. She holds it out in a way that she hopes will let him slice the wings off easily and gestures to it. ]
Whenever you're ready...!
no subject
Again, his sword is long, so it takes some angling and handling the actually blade but he chatters casually as he gets ready, )
It's nothing personal. ( The blade under the wings, ) But an assignment is an assignment.
( And he brings his sword down, slicing the wings cleanly in one move. The fairy definitely doesn't like it, letting out a shriek that doesn't seem to faze him. Wings in hand, he'll offer to trade the wings for the actual fairy with Kasen. )
no subject
So much trouble just for a pair of wings... [ She eyes the body with a bit ruefully. ] I have to say, your method of just slicing them off seems to be a great deal more humane compared to what I've seen other people do...
no subject
Cupping the fairy's body in his hand, he lays it down against a nearby rock carefully. He isn't sure if this sort of thing is enough to kill the fairy. Or if by removing the wings, he's basically condemned the creature to death. He isn't cruel. He won't toss it aside and disrespect it after he's taken something important from it.
For all of his nonchalance earlier, he's a little sad, now. Oh, well, no point letting it keep him down and he rises, wiping hi sword down and sheathing it, )
I wouldn't expect anything less for a pair of wings. ( Flying is a precious gift, after all. ) Hm?
( "More humane," huh? Hah! )
"More humane" but still cruel, is that right? ( He won't waste time with generous words he doesn't really deserve. He knows what he did. ) Well, I'm rather good at cutting, you could say.
( V a g u e . )
Shall we head back?
no subject
At his words, she gazes at him thoughtfully. She doesn't know if he expected a reply to that but she gives one anyway. ]
Not as cruel as it could be. It shows proper respect for the fairy, keeping its body intact. It may even still be alive and if it isn't, at least it was granted a quick, relatively painless death. [ She looks down at her hand, the one not wrapped in bandages. ] I, and many others, would have just opted to rip them right off the body. Now where would that leave the fairy?
[ "Good at cutting"? Another odd phrase. Well, she has her own secrets so she respects that. ]
In any case, that sounds like a good idea. Not much left to do here.
